Nduku Withdraws from the Makueni Senate race, endorses Kethi

Politics is a game of numbers and I hope Lands secretary Charity Ngilu can really confirm that after she lost in the last general election to make her politically irrelevant to the People of Ukambani. On this paradigm the recent developments in the senatorial race in Makueni County clearly confirm that Ngilu is not only irrelevant but technically unwanted kind of a leader in the lower eastern leadership.

I believe the ‘yes am running’ statement given by Nduku Kilonzo on Sunday was a forced yes from the voice of Ngilu whom the lower Eastern residents term as a ‘betrayer’ in their political direction.
Kethi Kilonzo- Makueni Senate Hopefu
I believe the standard newspaper went a mile farther and captured the perception by the voters in Makueni County and as I had expected its hard to force things on people. In the online edition they reported, ‘A decision by late Makueni senator Mutula Kilonzo’s widow, Nduku, to vie for the seat has received a blow after residents of Makueni protested against it. A day after she declared interest in the seat, residents of Wote town held street demonstrations to express their disapproval of her candidature.’
I remember watching a clip on Citizen TV of a resident hitting below belt. He asked, “If she was her real daughter, would she still say that she is running?’ I believe the Tuesday’s decision by Nduku to withdraw from the race is not only welcoming but respecting the wishes of Mutula Kilonzo to have her be the mother of his children and competitor of his children as she had potrayed last Sunday.
The standard newspaper quoted former Wote Town councilor Musau having said that Kethi has what it takes to be the next senator of Makueni County.
“We are not supporting Kethi because of her late father’s popularity. We support her because we saw her ability to defend the people during the presidential petition against the election of Uhuru Kenyatta at the Supreme Court. We don’t know what Nduku is capable of.”

Raila Odinga- Former Prime Minister, Kenya
I wish the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga now pays back the brevity of Mutula Kilonzo of supporting a lady who stood at the Supreme Court to contest the election of Uhuru Kenyatta on grounds of descrepancies in the whole electoral process. I wish to tell Wiper Chairman David Musila not to strain their minds as its Kethi Diana Kilonzo all the way to the ballot and Kamba people have spoken. We need to show Kenya we can produce the first elected woman Senator as we produced the first woman Minister (Nyiva Mwendwa), first Chief Justice (Kitili Mwendwa) and now we are to prove critics wrong that we have a deal sealed.
The standard quoted the Makueni MP Daniel Maanzo having said that “The people of Makueni have already decided that it is Kethi they want to succeed her father and we as Wiper and CORD have already accorded her the ticket. We are waiting for Kalonzo to return to the country so the two CORD leaders can escort her to IEBC and lead unveiling of her candidature.”
I am not in the race. I have withdrawn.” Is a turning point for Kethi Kilonzo who had bowed out of the race as she termed it as a curse for her to campaign against her mother and  so I think she would reconsider a return to the political arena after her mother said “I was put under pressure especially by the media. They followed me to my car pressing me for an answer.”
I wish to urge the parliamentary committee on appointments to monitor the steps of Ngilu as she hasn’t forgotten the political sweetness.
Its time for a change and I endorse the candidature of Kethi Kilonzo on whatever party she may be nominated on if Wiper sells the ticket to the highest bidder then Kethi must be the super highest bidder. David Musila and Johnston Muthama must listen to the cry of the people and give people their choice of a leader who will stand for the same principles as Senior Counsel Mutula Kilonzo.
